Painting Over Waxed Woodwork 

​First you need to rub through the woodwork with wire wool or a scourer soaked in methylated spirits making sure you wear surgical gloves.  Wipe off with a rag and allow to dry. Then I chose to use Zinsser All Coat which is white in colour solvent based and quick drying. It sticks to any surface without the need for sanding. I did a scratch test and it really does the job.
