Exterior Painting In November

Crown Fast Flow water based alkid gloss was a good choice for painting an exterior this time of year as it dried quick and has a brilliant sheen. Because it gets dark earlier and we have the cold mist in the mornings it won’t make the paintwork go flat unlike solvent based glosses.

Cheaper Alternative

Farrow & Ball colour on the walls but mixed up in a Crown Bedford paint. Much cheaper way to achieve the same effect. Acrylic eggshell on woodwork in a Dulux colour but mixed again to a Mcphearsons paint to save money. Happy days.

Valspar Premium Matt

Valspar Premium matt used on the walls. These are very old walls and ceilings as the house is 1930s so notice I cut my own line in just below the ceiling lines as it gives it a sharper edge and straighter finish.

Dulux Vinyl Matt

Painting the Bingo Hall at Aspects was a challanging job. So many different colours and the height of the walls aswell. Not to forget all the customers coming in and out. Thanks to the quality of Dulux Vinyl Matt the colours looked solid in two coats.

PVA

PVA is needed for when you strip paper and a drywall is revealed. It provides a sound base for re lining walls.
